Our story
This story begins with 2 young, sporty kids. We met our freshman year of college, and quickly developed an unspeakable connection. Most of our time early on together revolved around volleyball, group outings, and unnecessary trips to Walmart. One thing was for sure, we were the best of friends. As we got to know one another, we grew closer and closer, and our first formal together left us with an unshakable feeling toward one another.
We finally began to date during the fall of our sophomore year. What a wonderful time! This relationship was marked by Industrial Park dates, more volleyball, and the outbreak of COVID-19. Quarantine was such a weird time. We made the wise choice to work on ourselves and forgo long distance.
As you can see, our path was anything but linear. Throughout our relationships God taught us much about ourselves and the ways we needed to grow. This meant needing time apart, but eventually growing back together. We came back together in a relationship marked by Avatar: The Last Air Bender, intense game nights, and even more volleyball. This took us all the way up to the end of our time in college, when we decided to go our separate ways. We thought this was the end of our story.
Hallie moved to Charleston, SC, while Cameron stayed in Searcy before moving back to Dallas. But everything changed when we saw each other for the first time in a long time (thanks Givens’ wedding). Our repressed feelings were quickly rekindled, and we began to get to know one another again. It was really cool to see how each of us had grown and changed. God is good! He brought these 2 best friends back together.
So we’re doing it right this time. We’re dedicated to putting God first, loving each other well, and seeking to truly be partners in this life. We have already seen God’s blessings in our relationship. We hope to honor Him, our families, and one another with our marriage. We’re looking forward to this relationship, which thus far has been full of deep connection, vulnerability, and teamwork. Oh and also The Bear. Thank you for tuning in and being a part of our story. “Hallie and Cameron 3: The Long-Awaited Finale” is by far the best of the series and will continue to air until death do us part.
